Very happy with this company!! They were able to get us on the schedule quickly and the tech communicated well, was prompt, thurough, made great recommendations and took care of everything we needed. Thank you & we appreciate Mack and his wonderful service!!
I had an issue with my garage door and a piece broke off of the top mount. I called them at 3 PM and by 4:30 they already had a crew out to my residence to repair the issue. The two men that showed up were Jeff and Luis. Both of them shook my hand and introduced themselves to me right off the bat- great first impression!
Not only did they do a fantastic job fixing the issue, they knew immediately what was wrong and they repaired everything within 20 minutes. After they repaired everything, they checked my other garage door and noted that it needed to be set a little bit lower to help prevent someone from breaking in. I honestly cannot thank them enough for getting out so quickly, doing such a wonderful job but also checking something that I didn’t even ask them to check. They went above and beyond on the personal service and they have a customer for life! Thank you, Jeff and Luis!

Tyler was great! Called to confirm arrival time. Arrived on time. Explained problems with my door and opener. Gave me options and explained each very well. Installed new opener and explained how to use. Even programmed my car to new opener. Very good experience.

My garage door opener stopped working and I called my original company where they gave me the runaround. Saw an ad for Garage Door Doctor and called. Got same day service and Darrin Thompson, the installer was fantastic. If you need service contact them.
My Tuesday morning started with a very loud noise. I initially dismissed it as thunder, but a check of my weather app showed clear skies. The mystery was solved shortly after when I tried to leave for a client meeting in Lafayette: my garage door wouldn't open. The loud sound was the tension spring snapping.
Driving to Lafayette, I immediately searched for "garage doors" and chose Garage Door Doctor based on their strong Google Reviews. Booking an appointment for the following morning was seamless. My technician, Mack, was truly amazing. He clearly explained the repair process and the cost upfront.
What impressed me most, beyond the excellent service, was the communication. I received text messages and a phone call from Mack when he was 20 minutes away. My entire experience with Garage Door Doctor was outstanding, and I would absolutely use them again.

Updated Review 10/7/25:
I am changing my review from 1 star to 5. We finally were able to get in touch with a manager named Brian, and he was able to help us out and make it right. He apologized for the inconvenience and refunded our money. I guess we should’ve never had to pay in the first place to get this issue resolved, but it’s really refreshing to encounter a manager that will own mistakes and make them right. Thanks Brian!
Original Review: I had a terrible experience with Garage Door Doctor. About two years after installing our brand new garage door, the spring broke. Unfortunately, it was just outside the one-year warranty. They offered us a $23 discount and a $50 coupon that everyone gets, which was disappointing.
We hardly use our garage door, so I expected better quality. The new technician showed us how to grease the door to prolong the life of the new springs, but the original technician should have done that.
When you spend $2500 on a new garage door, you shouldn't have to spend another $500 on it just over two years later. Either the craftsmanship or the parts (or both) are faulty.
The only positive aspect was the new technician, who was very nice and even offered to get me a drink from a gas station on his way over both times he visited.

Response from the owner:Hey there Sam,
I’m really sorry to hear about your experience – it’s never what we aim for here at Garage Door Doctor. Your disappointment makes absolute sense and I can assure you, this isn't typical for our team. We’re all about providing long-lasting quality and complete satisfaction.
While we do try and provide everyone with the tips and tricks to keep their garage doors operating smoothly, it sounds like, in this instance, we dropped the ball; we should have made sure to cover this during your installation.
I’m glad our most recent technician was up to standard – offering to grab you a drink along the way really is exactly the kind of person we have on the team.
Your feedback is vital to us and we appreciate you taking the time to share. Our customer experience manager will definitely look further into this so we can figure out why this happened and make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Please, look out for a follow-up from us. We're looking forward to connecting, working things out and helping ensure your garage door gives you the quality you’d expect from us, for years to come. Thanks again, Sam.

Let me be clear - ONE person from this company earned my 5 stars. This was originally a 1 star review (see below). We had a door spring break on our 2 year old garage door and the "best" price these guys could get us "without coming out behind" themselves was $477. I asked for them to file a claim with the garage door manufacturer so we could at least get the cost of the one spring back (when I called that same company, they made it clear that only the installer could file this claim). They clearly had no interest in doing us this favor despite multiple requests. We also asked to speak to managers, that request was brushed aside multiple times. Finally, I reached Brian. He immediately agreed that we never should have been charged for the repair, and he quickly refunded our money.
This was clearly a case of the "squeaky wheel gets the grease." How many elderly people or those that do not know how to fight back have been charged for repairs that were due to faulty equipment or poor installation? And this simply because they did not know how to respond to Garage Door Doctor taking advantage of them.
What a bummer that our brand new garage door broke, locked my car in our garage while we needed it to transport our guests that were in for just a couple days, and we had to wait for service that then cost us $500.
Getting our money back took hours of trying to resolve the issue and only happened when we finally got in touch with someone that was able to recognize that the detriment to the company was not worth the $500 they were trying to take out of our pocket.
I would NOT recommend this company to anyone looking to replace or fix a garage door. But I DO appreciate Brian and promised that I would switch my 1 star to a 5 star, for his sake only. Thank you Brian, for doing the right thing. From a small family to large business - please continue to do the right thing by your customers, but try to do it before things get escalated to Brian.
Previous review:
Very disappointing experience. We bought a brand new garage door from these guys 2 years ago. The install was rushed and done poorly, with the doors immediately squeaking, which I later was told by this company indicated poor installation. We were not given an owner's manual, nor were we provided with care or upkeep instructions. Well, when one of the springs broke a year later, we had to pay almost $500 and endure a couple days with a car stuck in our garage because the door wouldn't open. We asked for an itemized receipt but have yet to be provided with one - though were told the company would be losing money if they discounted the parts any further (which, at an hour of service, yes, we have cameras so this is an accurate time frame), that would put our service cost at $400 for that hour, estimating the garage door springs to cost $100 (although a company like this with as much business as it does certainly receives their springs at a much further discounted rate).
Shame on you Garage Door Doctor. Shame on you for your poor and rushed install, your lack of provision of key documents for the maintenance of our garage door, shame on you for not taking responsibility. I understand that our spring was most likely a defective one, and that happens. But the manufacturer offered to give a replacement spring at no additional cost, provided Garage Door Doctor contact them to coordinate. We will see if Garage Door Doctor does the right thing and coordinates this. So far, we have not received our requests for an itemized bill or evidence of communication with Amarr.
What a disappointing experience. We were recommended this business by a large manufacturer that does tons of business with them - we will certainly be making them aware of our experience.

Response from the owner:Hi Becca,
I'm truly sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with Garage Door Doctor. We take all feedback seriously as we believe every engagement with our company should truly reflect our drive for excellence.
Your situation sounds certainly frustrating, especially having to deal with a squeaky door and a spring failure on a relatively new install. We totally understand your concerns and please believe me when I say that this is not the level of service we strive to provide. It indeed sounds like you’re in a tough spot, and we certainly don't want our customers to feel like they've been left in the lurch or letdown.
I want to assure you that I’ve already referred your review to our customer experience manager who will look into your complaint thoroughly. I know they will review any job site photos and operational checklist, discuss with the field tech involved, and will reach out to you personally once they do.
We also hear your concern about the springs and the manufacturer’s offered replacement. We’re dedicated to ensuring that every customer concern is met with our full efforts to make it right because that’s what we are here for.
We intend to do whatever it takes to rectify your situation and regain your faith in our company. We are committed to coordinating with the manufacturer, and once arranged, we’ll provide you with the needed documents and any unanswered information about your garage door and its maintenance.
Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. Problems are what help us grow better as a service provider. We value your feedback, and I assure you, our team will do everything in their capacity to address your concerns and make things right.
Again, we’re genuinely sorry for the letdown, Becca. Your experience matters a lot to us, and we are absolutely committed to turning it around.
Best,
Blaire at Garage Door Doctor
